The Dallas Cowboys (12-4) run defense and even pass rush has come under fire in recent weeks. Allowing 100+ yards on the ground from and just one sack from Weeks 13-15.

However, the past two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans, these areas of the defense are seeing a resurgence.

Granted, both of these teams were missing key players that would factor into it, but the momentum created from it can have an effect as long as it's capitalized.

A major reason? One of the Dallas Cowboys many strong rookie defenders, edge rusher Sam Williams. Williams missed the Eagles game due a car accident, in which he continues to express his thankfulness for surviving.

His most recent game against the Titans was a reminder of just how valuable he is. Not only did he register three QB pressures, he continues to display himself as one of the Cowboys best edge setting run defenders.

Along with DeMarcus Lawrence, Carlos Watkins and Chauncey Golston, Williams value as a run defender should earn him more snaps if they continue to struggle to stop the run and generate a pass rush.

In the last two weeks, Williams has more pressures than current starter Dorance Armstrong, having more wins against run blocks as well.

Rather than taking away the current rotation, going into the playoffs, the Cowboys need to realize how valuable Williams continues to be. Whether it's playing as an edge or interior defender, Williams needs more snaps.

Evidence (stats, film, etc.) proves just how valuable he continues to be.
