DALLAS — Justin Holiday may not be a superstar, but his arrival in Dallas adds two things the Mavericks need — a championship mentality and depth.

Holiday, a member of the 2015 NBA championship Warriors, will wear No. 0 for the Mavericks and bring an additional ball handler and wing to a team strapped for depth in both places.

ReHoliday has played in 28 games this season for the Atlanta Hawks and is averaging 4.5 points per contest. He had recently been traded to the Houston Rockets, who bought him out of his contract, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. He holds career averages of 8.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest in 604 regular season games.

What Holiday brings to Dallas is bench depth for what hopes to be a deep playoff run after trading for superstar guard Kyrie Irving. Don't expect Holiday to be an everyday player. But he appears to be a needed addition as the Mavericks continue to scramble for pieces in the arms race that is the Western Conference.
