The Denver Broncos' newest offensive lineman explained the meaning behind their newest culture and theme during OTAs.

Bringing Sean Payton in, the Broncos are hoping he can somewhat do what he did with the New Orleans Saints – turn a franchise with recent bad history around. He is capable of doing it, but it starts with a culture and mindset change.

He is already implementing that with the new shirts we are seeing some of the players wear that read "uncommon."

"It means you know, winning, winning football in the National Football League is uncommon," Powers said to the media last Thursday when asked the meaning of the shirts. "It's hard to do. It's why there's not a lot of winners. There's only one Super Bowl champ. It starts with winning and that's an uncommon thing. That's exactly what we're trying to be."

That is a great mentality to have to go into the season, and as we all know, they definitely need a culture and mindset change after having losing season after losing season since they won the Super Bowl. It's been dark, for sure.

But what is their new culture? They are still trying to figure that out a bit.

"That's a hard question for me to ask coming, being new this year, if I was here last year, and then I could tell you kind of what's changed," Powers said. "But, you know, we're still trying to figure out our culture. So I don't have a good answer for that."

I can see this team's culture being a blue collared team that is physical and hard-nosed. They will run the ball a lot, and their defense will be good. That explains everything that kind of team does.

While they still haven't figured it out, they are still making progress as a team. The culture will come organically, and it will be the right thing for the team. I think we see a completely different team in 2023.
