It didn't take long for Brandon McManus' replacement to join the roster.

While fans were left scratching their heads at the front office's decision to cut the second-highest scorer in franchise history, Sean Payton and George Paton wasted no time filling the important hole on the roster.

Per 9NEWS' Mike Kils, it was reported that RB Tyriek McAllister has been officially cut in order for the team to make room for newly-signed K Elliott Fry.

McAllister has a history with the organization as he was picked up as an UDFA last season. Since then, he's bounced around on the practice squad but hadn't made an appearance on the active roster. Furthermore, the decision to cut McAllister has been one the organization has already made this offseason as McAllister had been waived and re-signed earlier this month.

As for Fry, he has big shoes to fill. Despite it only being a one-year deal, Fry is going to have to impress right away. McManus was a legend for the organization and a fan favorite.

Fry has jumped around the league over the past few seasons and has limited playing time. Impressively, Fry has spent time with the Chargers, Jaguars, Bengals, Packers, Chiefs, Falcons, Buccanneers, Panthers, Ravens, and Bears.

Despite the long list of teams, Fry has only appeared in one game for the Chiefs, Falcons, and Bengals. In those games, the kicker is 5-for-6 on field goals and 5-of-7 for extra point attempts.

With this just being a one-year deal and Fry having limited experience, we have to imagine the front office will have a short leash with him. If he were to struggle during the season, don't rule out the team bringing in another veteran.
