The Denver Broncos are trying to find any slight little edge they can over any team in the NFL. They are trying to take that next step of getting back to the playoffs, something they dominated in the 2015 season so much so that they won the Super Bowl.
However, since then, it has been pretty dark. Recent times have not been so great, so they would greatly appreciate a winning season, and one that sees them at least make the playoffs. When you are as desperate as the Broncos, you will do whatever it takes, and sometimes that means trying stuff to find that diamond in the rough.
In this case, they are. One of the biggest positions on the roster that is wide open in terms of making the roster for undrafted guys, and guys who are just trying to make them, is the outside, and insider, linebacker positions, as Drew Sanders is going to be out in 2024 with an Achilles injury.
So, his spot, at least for this year, is wide open. They have brought in several players at the position and will let them all battle it out. They recently signed former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Andre Smith, and now have a workout with a UFL player on Tuesday.
According to Mike Klis of Denver Nine News, the Broncos will be working out Dondrea Tillman, who has won the last three USFL/UFL championships with the Birmingham Stallions.
Tillman has some pass-rush skills in his arsenal, as he finished 2023 with 3.5 sacks and 27 tackles. If he surprises, he could be a diamond in the rough guy for the Broncos.
Broncos: Rod Smith on Hall of Fame induction “I feel I’m deserving”
One of the greatest Denver Broncos of all-time is making his case for the Hall of Fame. Rod Smith was dominant during his long career, did he do enough for Canton?
