On Tuesday, the Denver Broncos received some bad news when they kicked off their minicamp for the 2023 season.
Baron Browning, a guy who broke out for the Broncos last year and was one of their best pass rushers for most of the season, will start his 2023 season on the PUP list, or, Physically Unable to Perform list.
"I'm not going to give updates on injuries, but yes. Obviously, he is someone who will start the season on PUP," Sean Payton told reporters on Tuesday. "Outside of that, I think that had a little bit to do with it, and that's part of the deal."
Browning was the guy that made Denver comfortable enough to move on from Bradley Chubb last season. In just 284 pass rush snaps, he finished with six sacks and 38 pressures, which were both good for second most on the team behind Dre'Mont Jones.
This news is why they chose to sign Frank Clark to a one-year deal worth up to $7 million. Clark is a guy that has won two Super Bowls in the AFC West and knows the division like the back of his hand.
This doesn't mean Baron will miss a lot of the season, but we know that he will miss the start of the season.
