On Tuesday the Denver Broncos made a move that will forever hold its own weight in the hearts of Broncos fans around the world.

The Broncos have been busy this offseason, whether it be the free agency period, the 2023 NFL Draft, or even rookie minicamps. Now, during OTAs, they made one more cut, and while it was somewhat surprising, it kind of hurts.

On Tuesday Denver announced that they were releasing kicker Brandon McManus, who was the last remaining player from the Super Bowl 50 squad that defeated the Carolina Panthers.

McManus is a legend to the Denver Broncos, as he is also the second all-time leading scorer in franchise history. He has made some huge kicks for the team, whether it be in the postseason or regular season, which is why fans and media will be sad to see him move on from the orange and blue.

But at the same time, I think it was time. He did not have a very good year last year, and maybe the whole Nathaniel Hackett experiment was a big reason why, as it seemed his confidence was always being put to the test. But, this is a business, and the Broncos need better.

McManus, if he decides to stay in the league, will find his way back on a team at some point. He is a guy that someone will value as the Broncos did. Now though, it's time for Denver to find out who their next kicker will be.
