The Denver Broncos are gearing up for one of the most highly anticipated seasons in recent memory. Admittedly, most of the reason behind the anticipation could be similar to watching disaster strike, you just can't turn away.
Sean Payton was brought in to turn the franchise around and has quickly asserted himself as the leader of the organization. Before the season officially begins, he's begun implementing some sweeping changes from the previous regime.
The front office did everything it could with the limited draft capital at its disposal. From trades, and moving up several times on day two, they were busy fine-tuning the rest of their roster.
Now, the organization has officially signed all of the draft picks to four-year deals. Mike Klis reported that the team has signed Drew Sanders, who had been the last of the rookie class to sign.
Sanders was wildly considered a draft steal. Denver landed the talented linebacker in the third round at No. 67 overall. Sanders was coming off an impressive season at Arkansas totalling 9.5 sacks, one interception, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 103 tackles. Previously, Sanders spent time with Alabama before transferring.
The Broncos got a steal as some draft experts had Sanders going in the first round. Sanders joins an impressive linebacker corps with a healthy mix of veteran presence and young upside. He'll need to earn it, but he could see meaningful snaps immediately.
With the Broncos officially signing all of their draft picks, here are the numbers. Remember, all of the below contracts are four-year deals.
- LB Drew Sanders – $5.7M
- WR Marvin Mims – $6.1M
- S Riley Moss – $5.4M
- S JL Skinner – $4.0M
- C Alex Forsythe – $3.9M
