The Denver Broncos recently traded away one of their starting caliber players for little to nothing on Tuesday, amidst all the chaos with roster cut-down day.

Malik Reed, who has started 34 games in three years for the Broncos, was traded Tuesday to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Reed finished with four pass deflections, three forced fumbles, 15 sacks, and 127 total tackles. He also had eight sacks in 2020, which was his best year, numbers-wise.

In return, the Broncos will get back little to nothing for Reed. The Pittsburgh Steelers are sending late draft pick compensation, according to Adam Schefter.

Reed was the odd man off at the outside linebacker position. George Paton, the General Manager, has been looking for a team to get some picks from for quite some time now.

Reed was the best way to do that with Baron Browning and the rookie Nik Bonito coming in at the position as well.

The Broncos are making moves that say they want to compete for longer than just this season.
