Nothing seems to be going right for the Denver Broncos this season, and the latest injury news just adds to the burden.

The Broncos received some reinforcements ahead of their Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, with TE Greg Dulcich being activated from injured reserve following a hamstring injury. He appeared in 11 snaps on offense, with two targets and one reception for three yards during the game. It was not exactly a banner day, but there was a reason for that.

Unfortunately, Dulcich suffered another hamstring injury and has wound up back on injured reserve again. The second-year tight end emerged as a favorite target of Russell Wilson's during training camp and the preseason, but he's hardly been on the field this season due to injury.

The NFL implemented new injured reserve rules over the past several years. They can now designate up to eight players to return from IR during a season, and an individual player can be placed on IR and designated to return twice. They've activated two players from IR so far this season (Dulcich and S PJ Locke).

So, this latest hamstring injury doesn't necessarily mean the end of Dulcich's season. However, it guarantees he'll miss a minimum of eight games in his second year. Players must miss at least four games before they can be designated to return from IR. He'll first be eligible to return for the Broncos' Week 11 game against the Vikings.

Missing all of that time is hardly the situation you want for a promising young player, and his absence will only hurt the team's chances of finding any silver lining for the 2023 NFL season.
