C.J. Gardner-Johnson gives a date that he will be back with the Lions this season
The Detroit Lions wowed everyone when they signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson. It was a rare moment when one of the best free agents decided to come to Detroit. Sadly things didn't last long as Gardner-Johnson tore his pectoral muscle early on into the second game of the Lions season. The prognosis on that was good. The tear was clean and it was the type of tear that J.J. Watt suffered at the beginning of the 2019 season. Watt was able to return and the idea has been that Gardner-Johnson would return too.
But when? Well, Gardner-Johnson gave Lions fan an idea of when he'd be back this year on Instagram Live on Friday morning.
There you go. The divisional round of the playoffs. That's would be January 20th. If that's the case, and I'm just spit balling here, a return to practice in Week 18 seems like the most likely return time. That would give him two weeks to get fully ready to play.
If the Lions continue at this rate, there's a solid chance that they won't play during the wild card round. But if they do, it looks like Garnder-Johnson could miss that game if his time table is fully accurate.
We'll see where things go from here. Injuries can be weird. You can heal fast or you can heal slow. Maybe he gets back earlier and maybe he doesn't get back at all. Only time will tell.

He's not practice since and that streak has extended to Friday. Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell was asked on Friday what […]
