The 2024 NFL Draft is two weeks from Thursday. It's about to go down Detroit Lions fans. Downtown Detroit is going to be hopping and I can't wait to see it. Before then, we have to get some questions answered in this weeks NFL Draft themed mailbag. Let's jump into it.

I think there's a very strong possibility that the Lions make multiple trades again. I'm more split on which way they go than ever before.

Part of me thinks the logical thing to do is to trade down and get more picks. It's what the Lions have been doing. But then I start to think abotu how full the roster currently is and I wonder if trading up for the best players that they like might be the better move since this roster is pretty much good to go in terms of contending for a Super Bowl.

This is the fun part of the draft. You never know what's going to happen.

I don't see the Lions moving up for an edge rusher as much as I see them moving up for a cornerback. The Lions have really spent a lot of the draft process looking at corners that could be out of their reach and looking at edge rushers that should be there for them at 29 or 61.

This teams seems hellbent on making sure their cornerback room is the best that it's ever been. It's already almost brand new.

Right now I have to go with Utah safety Sione Vaki. He's a day three guy with with three phase ability and the Lions have had contact with him at every single phase of this draft process. They watched him at the Senior Bowl, formally met with him at the combine, went to his pro day and then had him in for a top-30 visit. That says a lot about how they feel about him.

I think the Lions see him as a Jamal Agnew type player that they can put on any phase and get something out of.

Definitely. This is where we've seen Brad Holmes take his biggest swings. From trading up for Jameson Williams to shocking everyone last year with just about every pick he made. This is Holmes specialty and I would guess that it's his favorite time of the year. I fully expect him to do something in this draft that makes everyone shake their heads in amazement.

For the longest time I thought receiver would be the pick at 29. Now I'm not as sure as I once was. Despite every offseason move and some of the stuff they did at the combine pointing to receiver, all the signs seem to now be pointed towards cornerback.

I still very much expect the Lions to take a receiver high, but I'm leaning towards cornerback being the first pick in this one and I wouldn't be surprised if they walked out with more than one.

It's going to take a lot. Arnold is going to go somewhere between 10 and 20 and any team that is willing to do business on a trade in that area is going to want to make sure the juice is worth the squeeze if they move down. My guess is that means the Lions are trading multiple picks from this years draft as well as high assets from next years.

You make that move if you feel deeply that this player is the key to your Super Bowl run in 2024 and that you can't live without him being a part of the franchise. If that's your guy, go get your guy.
