Welcome to week 5 Detroit Lions fans. Things are really starting to fly by. We've got a bit of a jumbo mailbag today. There's a lot of Lions stuff and then I'll be answering some other things as well. Let's stop wasting time. Bring on the questions!

I really don't have a ton of concerns at the moment. I think I just really have two. The first one is injuries. Can this team stay healthy down the stretch? The injury report has been pretty full all five weeks of the season so far. Can they clean that up? Sometimes it's just the healthiest team that makes the big runs at the end of the year.

The other is can they keep the chip on their shoulder? It was a bit concerning that the Lions came out and got smacked in the mouth by the Seahawks. I don't think they should have lost to that team. It was a little worrisome that the Packers were able to come back a little on Thursday. Can the Lions keep that killer edge going when they're successful? I just need to see it. I think there's a good chance we will.

The answer is really the same as it's always been. Chase Young is probably the most realistic move that I can come up with. I'd love to say that the Lions could raid the rosters of the worst teams in the league and come out with a Patrick Surtain or a Brian Burns, but I just can't confidently say that's a realistic scenario.

I can say that with Young. The Commanders have been rumored to be shopping him and the oddsmakers have consistently had the Lions at the front of the line for teams that would make a deal to get him. With Young being kind of a tier two edge rusher, the Commanders aren't going to get a first round pick for him. They'll probably be able to get him for something like a high 3rd round pick. Which the Lions have from the T.J. Hockenson trade.

The Surtain and Burns moves have some realism to them. So does the Maxx Crosby trade. But far less realism for sure.

I expect him to play something like 30 snaps in this first outing. The Lions will probably work in some plays for him and Jared Goff will likely take some shots his way. How they divide up those 30 snaps is the real question. Do they front load them and have most of them in the first half or is it the other way around? I guess it really could depend on how hot the Lions come out of the gate. If they can run up the score, you'll probably see a little more of him.

Randy Gregory just got released from the Broncos earlier this week after his start there had been pretty rough. He's an interesting option for the Lions. Usually the Lions would be willing to take in a player like that becasue they have a good track record of turning players careers around. The comparison here would be Charles Harris of course.

The big thing that gives me pause is that he's 30 years old already. That's not a dealbreaker perse, but you wonder if the Lions would rather pursue someone younger. Still, you can't ignore what he was able to do with the Cowboys just last year. I'm going to go with a full on "I don't know" on this one.

They need to get in Bryce Young's face early and often. The Panthers probably will try to go up tempo early to counter act that, but I don't think they'll have as much success as the Seahawks did becasue at least they were doing it with a pretty accurate veteran quarterback.

The Lions just need to keep rushing the passer and keep Young contained within the pocket and they should be able to take advantage.

It's hard to know without knowing what the roster looks like then. But if it happened today, Marvin Jones, Zonovan Knight, Brandon Joseph, Chase Lucas, Kayode Awosika, Darrell Daniels and Jason Cabinda could be players that the Lions would have to make the hard decison to either release or send back down to the practice squad.

I think that's an easy one. It's Jahmyr Gibbs. Once the Lions start adding him to the gameplan more as he settles into the NFL, he's going to show everyone what we saw at camp all summer. He's a dynamic weapon. It really is true. They just haven't unleashed him yet.

I'm going with turquoise and the animal is a raccoon. But like a space raccoon who gets into space garbage and gets extra powers from eating old banana peels. It's morphin time!

Yes! The Waffle House is one of the best restaurants there is. They're open 24 hours a day and you can always hit them right after a night of drinking and see someone get into a fight or, at the very least, see some wild stuff. It's like dinner and theater. It's a much cheaper version of Medieval Times. There are no locations in Michigan at all and that's a crime.

I enjoy the group. I'm just not a fan of all the tension so early into their run. You get the feeling like they started the breakup right when the group got hot. They should have waited for that. My guess is that Priest walks out of Fastlane the World Champion and they begin the end of things for real. By the way, Dominik Mysterio is the most pleasant surprise ever. For a long time I didn't think he got it. It totally gets it though.

For food, you have to check out Lafayette Coney, Niki's pizza, Pie Sci makes all kinds of cool pizzas, The Detroit Shipping company has a really cool food court, The Clique or Dime Store for breakfast and Texas De Brazil if you want a fancy dinner. You will eat very well if you follow these tips.

Chargers’ running back Austin Ekeler weighs in on Jahmyr Gibbs usage

The Detroit Lions were the talk of the night back in April when they decided to take Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th pick. Brad Holmes would later rave about the Lions new draft pick and call him a position-less weapon. This got Lions fans and fantasy football people super excited.  Lately they've […]
