The Detroit Lions hype train just keeps on moving down the tracks. I've bene around this team since I was kid in the 80's and 90's and I've been covering them since 2014. I have never seen fan excitement at the level that I see it at right now. The excitement is so high that the Lions had a franchise first on Thursday.
That's huge for the team. They've never had a waiting list for season tickets before. Fans will now have to do the same thing that Green Bay Packers fans have to do when they want season tickets, wait their turn.
Trust me. I have friends that have been on that waiting list for years.; They've even put their kids names on the list. The Lions have a ways to go before something like that happens. But if they continue to be a good team, that's right around the corner.
It's going to be a little more difficult for Lions fans to find tickets this year. They'll really have to hit that resale market hard Even then, with all the excitement and hype surrounding this team, they'll probably have to pay more than they're used to.
The cheapest ticket on StubHub for the Lions home opener against the Seahawks right now is $128. That's for section 337. All the way at the top of the building. Get ready for Ford Field to regularly be full.
