The Detroit Lions did not give us much notification as to who was going to play against the Giants on Friday night and who isn't. Actually when Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell was asked, he said he knew, but he didn't want to tell us yet.
Well, now we know that Jared Goff will not be playing on Friday night. That should come as no shock to anyone. The Lions may put him on the field during the preseason, but it might not be till the third game if they do it all.
It's all Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez against the Giants. For Sudfeld, this is his chance to show that a third quarterback on the roster could be good for the Lions. For Martinez, it's all about getting some tape out there.
Other players who will be sitting out Friday nights game are Amon-Ra St. Brown, Marvin Jones, Trinity Benson (injured,) Taylor Decker, Frank Ragnow, Graham Glasgow, Penei Sewell, Jonah Jackson, Halpoulivaati Vaitai and Josh Reynolds.
