The NFL Draft has been a pretty one dimensional thing since it's inception. You can get drafted into the NFL by playing college football and that's about it. The NBA has multiple ways to get drafted and one of them playing in another country. The Lions could be making history by drafting a player that did just that.

Defensive back Qwan'tez Stiggers will be visiting the Lions as one of their 30 pre-draft visits. Stiggers never played college football. He was enrolled at Lane College in Tennessee until the death of his father caused him to go into a depression and drop out. His mother talked him into getting back into football and he tried out for an arena league and made it.

He caught the attention of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts and their offensive coordinator Josh Jenkins recommended he try out. Stiggers made the team and had a huge rookie season in 2023 So good that he won the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year award and became an all-star. He had five interceptions in 16 games for Toronto.

While he did not play college football, his year in the CFL did make him eligible for the NFL Draft. The Lions are a team that are going to be looking for defensive backs in this draft. Stiggers is by far the most intriguing option because of his story.
