The Detroit Lions had a lot of hope for their secondary this season. One of the biggest moves they made was bringing in safety and interception leader C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Unfortunately Gardner-Johnson suffered an injury on Monday and was carted off the field.

That's a  major blow for the Lions and Gardner-Johnson. No information about what kind of injury Gardner-Johnson suffered is known right now, but with non-contact knee injuries, There's always a chance that it could be potentially season ending.

We'll be sure to give updates as they come in, but this looks to be a bad one that could have a lasting effect on the Lions defense. Gardner-Johnson was expected to be a large part of the group in 2023 and had already begun to leave his mark.

Here's hoping that Gardner-Johnson is able to heal up from whatever this injury may be.
