Music and athletes go together like peanut butter and jelly. It's been going on for decades now. Former Detroit Lions greats Lem Barney and Mel Farr actually sang backup vocals on Marvin Gaye's legendary song What's Going On. Shaquille O'Neal has multiple albums, Damian Lillard is a pretty good rapper and Terry Bradshaw had a country music album.

The Lions are a pretty musical team. Defensive tackle Alim McNeil has also released a lot of music under the name Dream. He's not the only artist on this team. New Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson also puts out his own music under the name of SOG Ceedy. On Friday, he dropped this music video.

I'm sort of what you'd call an old head when it comes to rap music. I mean I've been listening to De La Soul all week. I do like a lot of newer rap, but I tend to stay away from the mumble rap side of things. I actually like this song though. I like production of it and I think it's clear that Gardner-Johnson has a real talent for this.

Imagine a world where Gardner-Johnson is both a very good safety in the NFL and good rapper int he music world. Maybe you don't have to imagine it actually. Seems like you're already living in that world.
