It is hard to ever say anything with certainty in regards to the NFL Draft, and 2023 should prove to be more of the same.
With a lot of teams going in different directions and with several quarterbacks that turn every head that walks by, the first four picks or so are anyone's guess.
However, once you get to a team like the Detroit Lions, it gets a little easier to tell what the franchise will do.
There are basically three positions that make sense for the Lions with the sixth-overall pick: corner, edge, and quarterback.
That seemed to be the order of the likelihood a few weeks back, but the signing of a few good free agent corners and C.J. Gardner-Johnson should mean that the secondary is already ready for a playoff push.
Now, it seems like there is one likely position and one position that will be a major long shot.
Sticking within the realm of realism, edge seems like the most likely option, and Bruce Feldman of The Athletic lays out the most likely selection for the Lions with the sixth overall pick.
This isn't the first time that Tyree Wilson has been mocked to the Lions and it won't be the last.
Edge makes a ton of sense for the Lions to take yet another step towards getting their defense ready to avenge the disappointment of 2022, and Wilson has enough upside to help any team that takes a chance on him early.
There are still a few other directions the Lions could go with this pick when its all said and done, but Feldman coming to this conclusion should show a lot of fans that this is a very likely contingency to plan for.
