There is a lot to be excited about with the Detroit Lions in 2023. Not only is the team on the verge of winning the NFC North again, but this roster is also Detroit's best chance at a playoff run for a while.

Another area that will also be worth keeping a close eye on is individual player success. Teams becoming media darlings overnight, similar to the Lions, end up getting more individual player accolades, and there are is also more attention given to these players that break records.

One Lions player with a great chance of getting these individual awards and setting an NFL record is quarterback Jared Goff.

Goff was a bit of a surprise star for the Lions last year due to an extremely efficient performance that helped lead to an appearance in the Pro Bowl. Goff's seven interceptions were a major plus in the turnover category for the Lions, and that continuing into next season could lead to Goff setting the NFL record for pass attempts without an interceptions.

Goff is currently at 324 attempts without a pick. He doesn't have that far to go. The record, which was set by Aaron Rodgers, is 402 attempts. Jared Goff could break that by the second game if his attempt numbers per game go up by just a little.

This may not be the type of record that most Lions fans care about, but it is just another good example of how criminally-underrated Jared Goff is by most of the NFL media.
