The Detroit Lions are a day away from heading to San Francisco to play the 49ers for a chance to head to Super Bowl LVII. As they do before every game, the Lions made some roster moves to get prepared for the game. Here's what they did ion Saturday:

Elevated Jason Cabinda from practice squad

Cabinda can not only work as a fullback and a blocker, he can work as an tight end. The Lions are down to two tight ends when it comes to guys that know the playbook well. That's Sam LaPorta and Anthony Firkser. Cabinda cab be that third insurance guy if Ertz is limited in the snap count.

Elevated Michael Schofield from practice squad

With Jonah Jackson out, the Lions needed to use one of their elevations to bring up an extra offensive lineman. Schofield has plenty of experience starting at guard in the NFL. Expect Kayode Awosika to start this game, but if things go bad , the Lions can lean on Schofield if they need to.

Zach Ertz NOT elevated

The Lions signed Ertz earlier in the week and have thrown a crash course at him all week. There was some unsureness that Ertz would play this week since the Lions have shown, with guys like Bruce Irvin and Tyson Alualu, that they like to take their time with veterans. Ertz has an advantage that neither of those guys do. He's played this season. Still, the Lions felt like three days wasn't enough to learn the the playbook, so they will be holding him out of this game. He'll have shot to play in the Super Bowl if the Lions win.
