Every year NFL players get together and vote for for who they think are the top 100 players in the NFL. Every year we're on the lookout to see if any Detroit Lions players make the list. Last year the Lions were shutout of the list. They haven't had a player make the list since TJ Hockenson was ranked at 93 in 2021. They haven't had a defensive player make the list since Darius Slay came in at 92 in 2020.

That streak technically ended on Monday when Jamaal Williams made the list at 95 based off what he did last season. But he no longer plays for the Lions. The streak totally ended when Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson made the list at 88.

This is a big honor for Hutchinson after just one year in the league. It was a big year though. Hutchinson led all rookies in sacks and and even chipped in three interceptions.

The video that NFL  Films made can be seen here if you're an NFL+ member. It features Sauce Gardner, Caser Ruiz, Lane Johnson and Zonavan Knight.

The video starts off with NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Sauce Gardner pointing out that the defensive end had more interceptions that he did in their rookie year. It's funny.

Hutchinson really took to the NFL game in his rookie year and he's expected to take another step in his sophomore season. we'll see just how high he can fly up the rankings next summer.
