Detroit Lions edger rusher Aidan Hutchinson felt like a bomb that was waiting to explode in the first two weeks of the season. He was the top of the league in pressures for the first two weeks of the season, but just couldn't get home.
He got home multiple times on Sunday against the Falcons. Hutchinson finished the day with two sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, four tackles and two pass breakups. That was good enough to win him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
That's a nice honor to have for the second year player that is trending towards being one of the leagues most elite edge rushers. This will be his second NFC Defensive Player of the Week award. He won his first one last year in Week 11 against the New York Giants. This weeks game was a lot better than that one too.
Hutchinson becomes the first Lions player to win this award twice since Darius Slay did it in 2017 and 2018. Let's see if he can get another one this season.
