Everyone wants to know what's up with Detroit Lions receiver Jameson Williams. The second receiver is going through his first training camp as a pro and from what we've seen, things seem to be going well. Still, it would be nice to know more. Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson came through with an update on how he thinks Williams is doing so far.
Well then, that's some serious praise for Williams. C.J. Gardner-Johnson isn't just some guy on the team either, he's one of the best safeties in the league. His word carries some weight. Saying that Jameson Williams is one of the best receivers in the game right now is a big thing to just throw out there.
You obviously have to take into account that he's teammate pumping up another teammate. I mean Jaire Alexander said a few weeks ago that Jordan Love was the best quarterback in the league. Sometimes teammates say things.
By all accounts, Williams has looked pretty good from what we've seen. I think at the end of the day, Gardner-Johnson saying he's ready will be proven right. We'll see if he winds up proving that he's one of the best receivers in the game at a later date. If he's right, then watch out for this Lions team with both Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
