Detroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson went down with a leg injury on the second day of training camp. He was carted off the field and was visibly upset.

The early thought was that the injury was a non-contact injury and that it could be potentially serious. As the day went on, there was some belief that there was, in fact, some contact per team cameramen. Now we know that there's some optimism surrounding the injury,

This is big news for the Lions. Gardner-Johnson was a huge addition to the team in free agency and it expected to play a major role in the secondary in 2023. We'll see just how bad the injury is soon after further testing. The hope is that everything will be just fine. We'll have updates and soon as we have more news.
