Ok, here's the thing. The long held belief about Jameson Williams suspension is that he could return to the Detroit Lions to practice starting after three weeks of his suspension. On Friday we learned that this is not the case. 

Jameson Williams can come back to the facility, he can get treatment, go to meetings and workout with the Lions training staff by himself. He cannot practice until the suspension is over after Week 6. 

The gambling policy, in it's modern form, is kind of an entirely new thing and as we know, the league hasn't done the best job of explaining it to players. It would seem as though that issue has also extended to the media.  

This obviously changes some things for Williams. I'm sure he's been working out this whole time, so that's not the issue. His health won't be the issue when he comes back for what he can do next week either. What will be the issue is that Williams is going to be farther behind than originally thought. 

That's three weeks of practice he'll miss out on. He will now be able to return to practice on October 16th ahead of the Lions matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. We'll see how things go from there.
