The Detroit Lions will kick off their 2023 season against the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night. Both the Lions and Chiefs have set their inactives for the game. Here’s who will be sitting out Week 1.
- Isaiah Buggs
- Emmanuel Mosley- Ruled out Saturday
- Brodric Martin
- Romeo Okwara
- Steven Gilmore
There’s no surprises here in Week 1. Buggs was benched by the team early in the week in favor of Benito Jones and Levin Onwuzurike and Moseley is not quite ready to come back from his torn ACL just yet. As for Okwara, he’s probably here simply because he has so many guys ahead of him on the depth chart right now.
As for the Chiefs, here’s who will out for them Thursday night:
- Travis Kelce
- Darius Rush
- Nic Jones
- BJ Thompson
- Wayna Morris
- Lucas Niang
- Neil Farrell
Things with Kelce went back and forth over the last couple days, but the Chiefs have decided to play it safe. They have elevated tight end Matt Bush from their practice squad to fill in.
