Lions could lose WR DJ Chark in free agency to Panthers
You can’t keep every free agent.
As nice as it would've been for the Detroit Lions to find a way to keep three talented wide receivers for Jared Goff and the passing offense in 2023, free agency was always going to complicate matters somewhat.
This team isn't made of money, even if it does have the space to still make a few more moves before the period ends.
Still, if the Lions really did want to ensure that wide receiver DJ Chark was going to stay put in Detroit, they should've made a move prior to this point.
Now, the Lions have potentially missed their chance with reports coming out that the Panthers are interested in Chark.
It might not be over between Chark and Detroit, but this signing would make a lot of sense.
Chark would likely get more money and more opportunities from the Panthers. That all may be too much to pass up.
Perhaps this move lights a fire under the Lions to finally lock their WR3 down, but the far more likely scenario is that this story ends with Chark wearing a much uglier shade of blue.
