Chase Lucas had a really impressive third preseason game of the Detroit Lions. He had a highlight reel interception in that game. That and his standout camp couples with compliments from dan Campbell led most to believe that he would make the Lions roster. He was ultimately waived. Looks like he'll be back though.
Lucas is a guy that could definitely see the field for the Lions in 2023. The Lions like to mix things up a lot and they've elevated practice squad players a lot in the past.
Lucas also has experience as a member of the Lions 53 man roster. He initially made the roster in 2022 and even played six games last year. His special teams play could get him that chance again.
The Lions are lucky that he wasn't claimed on waivers like some thought he might be.
