I know you remember seeing it a bunch on Thursday night, I'm not talking about all the videos of Detroit Lions General Manager Brad Holmes celebrating. I'm talking about Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor lining up as damn near a quarterback all night.

It was truly a sight to see and it was aggravating for everyone. Even the commentary team talked about it all night. Turns out we weren't the only ones to see it. The NFL saw it too and they're ready to crack down on it.

Sports Illustrated's Matt Verdame spoke with former head of NFL Officiating Dean Blandino about the alignment issues and apparently the league sent out their weekly training video to officials and this was a part of it.

“On the tape this week at the very end, there are several examples of—and a couple from the Thursday night game with Jawaan Taylor—of tackles who are too far back. … That was emphasized on the training tape going into Week 2,” Blandino said. “I would expect, just from my experience, officials watch that training tape. It’s usually a very good learning tool, and it’s good for giving your officials direction. I would expect we will not see the egregious examples we may have seen in Week 1.”

There you go Lions fans. Your calls were heard. The NFL will look to crack down on this issue and make sure that the game is being played as fairly as possible. We'll see how much they crack down starting Thursday night when the Eagles play the Vikings. Eagles tackle Lane Johnson is a known perpetrator of this act.

Sometimes life imitates art. For the Detroit Lions, that apparently happened on Thursday after Amon-Ra St. Brown's first touchdown of the year. St. Brown did a touchdown dance that's very reminiscent of the infamous Key & Peele sketch that features the official counting the amount of pumps that tight end Hingle McCringleberry does after his […]
