The Lions have a lot of things to consider right now. They have to figure out who they want to keep for their 53 man roster and who they hope to get back for their practice squad. They're not just looking at in house talent though. The Lions have their eyes everywhere right now.

"We're close." Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell said Monday morning. "But we still have, there's a number of moving pieces between here and then looking out, you know, on the other 31 teams. Is there a piece there that fits here? How is it relative to what we already have here? And so we're we're close, but we still have, there's a little bit of flux we have to go through here."

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the Lions are looking at what the other 31 teams in the NFL are doing right now and seeing if there's any players out there that they could be interested in. The consideration that you have to make there is how will that effect some of the in house players that are maybe expected to make the Lions roster right now?

It could change a lot. A good example would be last week when we suggested that the Lions go after Equanimeous St. Brown if he's released. A move like that could push someone like Dylan Drummond or seventh round pick Antione Green off the main roster and onto the practice squad. It doesn't have to be that exact scenario, but that's an example of what you have to take into account as this week progresses.

So when the Lions have their final roster laid out on Tuesday evening, that might not be their actual final roster. Players who are released can sign somewhere immediately, but players who are waived have to go through the waiver wire. If they aren't claimed by another team, they will become free agents on Wednesday. So we might not actually know the full scope of the Lions 53 man roster until Friday of this week.

It should be interesting to see what the Lions do and what positions they'll be looking to fill with players from other teams. If I had to guess today, I'd say receiver is one of them. Offensive line depth is another spot to look at. Quarterback might one too since Nate Sudfeld's injury may be a season ending one. The Lions seemed like they were possibly interested in rolling with three quarterbacks this year. If that's not the case, a practice squad guy wouldn't hurt.

We'll find out soon. Hold on for the ride.
