The NFL cutdown day is just a few days away and an interesting name could be available for the Detroit Lions next week. That name is Amon-Ra St. Brown's older brother Equanimeous St. Brown.

Our own Bears reporter Bryce Lazenby suggested on Thursday morning that St. Brown could be the odd man out with the Bears after the team traded for D.J. Moore. Plus St. Brown has Chase Claypool, Darnell Mooney and Tyler Scott in front of him at the moment and he's more than likely going to lose that final spot to Velus Jones due to Jones ability to be a return man.

The Lions are in the market for depth right now and St. Brown would be an easy move for multiple reasons. One being that his brother plays here and can vouch for him. The other being that the Lions have had an extended look at the older St. Brown since he's played for both the Bears and the Packers.

What Equanimeous can really bring to the team is that he can be an X receiver. He's a lot bigger than Amon-Ra. Equanimueous stands at 6-foot-5 and is 214 pounds. He's five inches taller than his brother. He has some speed and he can go up and get contested catches.

It's important to note that he's not his brother. Where Amon-Ra St. Brown is a Pro Bowl receiver, Equanimeous is more of a role player in the NFL.

Last year started 16 games for the Bears and 21 receptions for 323 yards and a touchdown. The Bears did throw the ball less than any team in the NFL last year. They attempted 377 passes. The Lions attempted 588. Equanimeous should have more of chance to show what he can do in Detroit than he did in Chicago and Green Bay.

If he's released on Tuesday, the Lions should be one of the first teams to give him a call.

The Lions could be moving on from the Okwara brothers

The Detroit Lions are an everchanging team. With change comes those moments where you have to say goodbye to guys that you maybe don't want to see go, but you have to. The Lions might be on the verge of one of those moments. This time it's a lot different becasue the players they might […]
