Last week we talked about undrafted rookie receiver Dylan Drummond and how he has been rising up the Lions depth chart and has a chance to find himself on the Lions 53 man roster. The former Eastern Michigan Eagle was a complete unknown up until then. Now he's getting some national attention from the crew at Good Morning Football on NFL Network.

Drummond really does have an amazing story. The big part that got left out is that he suffered a collapsed lung last season and had to miss time. He overcame that and then busted his tail when it mattered the most and things might wind up paying off for him.

Like Schrager says in the video, look for Drummond to get some significant time on the field in the Lions preseason outing against the New York Giants on Friday. If he can have a good showing, he'll be that much closer to achieving the unthinkable and making an NFL roster.

While he's a "longshot," Drummond seems to make the most sense among the group he's competing with due to his special teams ability. Trinity Benson just got hurt, Antione Green might have been cancelled out by Denzel Mims and Maurice Alexander might have been canceled out by Justin Jackson. That leaves a spot open for Drummond.

We're watching for a lot of things in the Lions first preseason game this Friday, but Drummond might be the guy we're looking to see the most. Can he go out there and have a big night and really make the case that he can make the roster? If he does, this is like the kind of things that they make Disney movies about.
