The 2024 NFL draft is next week. So in this final week ahead of time, I want to go over some of my top players for the Lions in this draft and make the case as to why they're the perfect fit for the Lions. We'll be covering Alabama's Terrion Arnold in this one. Here's who we've covered so far:

Kool-Aid McKinstry

The Draw

I mentioned the possibility of Arnold's teammate Kool-Aid McKinstry being a lockdown corner some day, Arnold might already be one. In 2023 he allowed a passer rating of just 50.7. He was targeted 79 times and allowed 41 catches for just 441 yards. He also picked off five passes.

The Lions are a team that loves turnovers and here's a ballhawk that could help them get more turnovers. Plus he can reroof your house if need be.

The Drawback

He's the top cornerback in the draft. That means he's currently out of reach unless the Lions want to trade up to get him. He's a guy that if you want bad enough, you're going to have to change your draft order a lot to make it happen.

There is some experience questions. 2023 was really the year he started to play a lot for Alabama. He was sort of flex guy in 2022 and he didn't play in 2021. Makes you wonder a bit.

Where can the Lions draft him?

Like we mentioned above, he is going to be out of reach. Most mock drafts have him going in the top 15, so the Lions are going to have to move up a lot of they want him. That's going to mean moving picks in this years draft and next years to make it happen. If he's your guy though, go get him.
