Williams is a great athlete that shows flashes of Micah Parsons when given consistent snaps. Williams fits well in the Cowboys defense, and has already proven to have incredible upside, great strength and mobility, and shows the potential of a very high ceiling.
Cowboys DE Sam Williams Film Breakdown
Strengths:
- Speed and agility: Williams is known for his speed and quickness on the field, which allow him to chase down opposing players and make tackles.
- Pass rushing skills: Williams is a talented pass rusher who is able to get past offensive linemen and pressure the quarterback.
- Versatility: Williams is able to play both as an outside linebacker and a defensive end, giving coaches flexibility in how they use him.
- Play recognition: Williams has shown good instincts for reading plays and identifying where the ball is going.
Weaknesses:
- Size and strength: At 6'3" and around 250 pounds, Williams is not the biggest or strongest player on the field. This can sometimes make it difficult for him to shed blocks and make tackles against bigger offensive linemen.
