In 2022, under new head coach and former defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, that didn't change too much. Demario Davis and Pete Werner are two of the best linebackers in the NFL, and together easily form the best tandem. They play very well together, complement each other, and allow the Saints to run aggressive schemes that play off of Davis and Werner's abilities.

Pete Werner:

Strengths:

• Versatility: Werner has experience playing both inside and outside linebacker positions and has shown the ability to play multiple roles on defense.
• Athleticism: He has good speed and agility for a linebacker, which allows him to cover ground quickly and make plays.
• Tackling: Werner is a reliable tackler who is able to bring down ball carriers effectively.

Weaknesses:

• Pass rush: While Werner has some experience as a pass rusher, he may not be as effective in this role as some other linebackers in the NFL.
• Coverage skills: Although he is athletic, some experts have suggested that Werner could improve his coverage skills, particularly in man-to-man situations.
• Size: At 6'3" and 240 pounds, Werner is a good size for a linebacker, but he may not be as physically imposing as some other players at his position.

Demario Davis: 

Strengths:

• Tackling: Davis is known for his excellent tackling ability and is one of the most reliable tacklers in the NFL. He is particularly effective in open field tackling situations.
• Leadership: He is a respected leader on and off the field and is known for his work ethic, dedication, and positive attitude.
• Football IQ: Davis has a high football IQ and is able to read offenses, make quick decisions, and adjust to different game situations.
• Coverage skills: Davis is a strong coverage linebacker and is able to defend against both the run and the pass.

Weaknesses:

• Pass rush: While Davis has some experience as a pass rusher, he may not be as effective in this role as some other linebackers in the NFL.
• Age: At 32 years old, Davis is getting towards the end of his prime as an NFL player and may not have the same level of athleticism and durability as some younger linebackers.
• Size: While Davis is a solidly built linebacker at 6'2" and 248 pounds, he may not be as physically imposing as some other players at his position.
