Future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski has spent his entire career with Tom Brady as his quarterback. First with the New England Patriots, then for the last two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (that includes a "retired" season in 2019 for Gronk).

With Brady recently announcing his retirement (though we'll see if that actually happens), it seems reasonable to expect Gronkowski to retire (again) as well.

But that may not necessarily be the case.

On Tuesday, Gronkowski, who will turn 33 in May, said during an appearance for "Autographs NFT" that if he could play with a quarterback not named Tom Brady it would be Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Here's what Gronk said (via Pro Football Talk):

“I kinda like this young buck quarterback. He’s in the Super Bowl now: It’s Joe Burrow, man,” Gronkowski said, via Chris Mason of masslive.com. “I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket, he’s just so calm, and he just slings it out on the field.

“I just love his swag, too. If I had to pick a quarterback it’d be the young buck Joe Burrow. He’s killing it right now in the game.”

Bengals tight end CJ Uzomah is set to be a free agent after the 2021 season, so Cincinnati could have a need at the position if he's not resigned.

A receiving corps of Gronkowski, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd would be a dominant force in the AFC.

It's no surprise, by the way, that Gronk is interested in Burrow. For the last couple of weeks, we've heard an endless amount of Burrow/Brady comparisons.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that there are only three options for Gronk in 2022 — playing with Brady again (if he comes out of retirement), signing with Cincy, or retiring for the second time in his career.
