The bad news is only two of the four scenarios the Green Bay Packers needed, happened. However, the good news is that now the final wild card spots are wide open.
While the fifth seed will likely come down to either the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles, both the six and seven seeds are open to eight teams realistically. Green Bay being one of the possible eight.
First things first, they need to take out the LA Rams. One of the eight possible teams fighting for a wild card spot.
After Baker Mayfield took the NFL world by storm with a dramatic win at home over the Las Vegas Raiders, it kept the Rams in playoff contention. Setting up a much more interesting matchup were the QBs in play Aaron Rodgers vs John Wolford or Bryce Perkins.
It's early but the Rams are 2-point favorites over the Packers. Essentially a pick 'em game.
The Packers are 3-3 at home and this is only the second time all season the Packers are underdogs at home, with Dallas being the only exception this season.
Now, they get the Rams on 15 days rest! With the offense playing the best they're playing all season. While matchup will be more competitive, there's no reason the Green Bay Packers shouldn't feel confident.
