The ups and downs of the Green Bay Packers injury report during this season have been stunning. After missing two games because of a back issue, Jaire Alexander played against the Las Vegas Raiders. You would think he would be better after the bye week, and he wasn't on the injury report whatsoever on Wednesday. But his injury status has gone in the wrong direction since.
After being limited with a back issue on Thursday, the All-Pro cornerback did not practice on Friday. According to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, he will be questionable to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
The other player that didn't practice on Friday was starting left guard Elgton Jenkins. Regarding him, though, LaFleur sounded more optimistic. Even though he will be questionable as well, LaFleur said his practice status on Friday was more "precautionary".
Hope regarding Aaron Jones
Missing games, coming back, and perhaps missing games again is Jaire Alexander's situation right now. But a similar thing happened to running back Aaron Jones. After missing two games, he was back against the Detroit Lions, but couldn't play again versus the Las Vegas Raiders because he aggravated a hamstring injury.
Jones was limited all this week, but LaFleur sounded hopeful about his status for Sunday.
"He looked pretty good", the coach said. "He was limited, so we'll see how he's feeling."
Injury designations
The Packers will have nine questionable players for Sunday: RB Aaron Jones, CB Jaire Alexander, G Elgton Jenkins, LB Quay Walker, S Darnell Savage, DL Devonte Wyatt, S Zayne Anderson, OT Yosh Nijman, CB Eric Stokes. Stokes is still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, but he has to be mentioned on the injury report as the Packers have opened his 21-day practice window to return.
The only doubtful player, therefore unlikely to play on Sunday, is off-ball linebacker De'Vondre Campbell, who suffered a high ankle sprain in week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
5 players that the Packers could trade before the deadline
