Jordan Morgan's versatility was a big reason for the Green Bay Packers to draft him in the first round. In the first weeks of practice, that is already obvious. On Wednesday, starting left guard Elgton Jenkins wasn't present, so the rookie had his first opportunity with the ones at guard.

Because of his relatively short arms, Morgan was projected to play inside in the NFL, despite being a college left tackle at Arizona. The Packers believe he can do it all, and the initial usage confirms that approach.

How the o-line was

The Packers practiced without their two best offensive linemen on Wednesday. Elgton Jenkins wasn't present, and the reason hasn't been disclosed, and right tackle Zach Tom will miss the offseason program because of a torn pec.

Because of that, Jordan Morgan had some right tackle reps last week. But this time around, he started at left guard.

The offensive line formation had Rasheed Walker, Jordan Morgan, Josh Myers, Sean Rhyan, and Andre Dillard.

Dillard, a former first-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles and started at left tackle for the Tennessee Titans last year, has been the primary right tackle while Zach Tom is out.

Versatility

Jordan Morgan was a left tackle in college, but his first weeks with the Packers showed exactly how they want to develop him. During rookie minicamp, Morgan aligned at left tackle. Last week, his reps with the first-team offense came at right tackle. And now he had individual drills and team reps at left guard.

"He played left tackle, he's got left tackle feet, very athletic kid," general manager Brian Gutekunst said right after taking Morgan in the first round. "A lot is going to depend on the player. He's played left tackle. He's got 37-plus starts at left tackle, so that's what he's done. But, at the same time, he's a really smart kid. That's one of those things, I don't know if you really know if he can do that early on until you get him in the building and see how he grasps things and stuff like that. But we would expect he'll be a quick learner and be able to pick up whatever they ask him to do."

So far, Jordan Morgan has been the only offensive rookie to get reps with the ones. And he's ready to do so at different positions. Meanwhile, the Packers quest to find the best five continues.
