The Green Bay Packers could badly use a wide receiver after trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and losing Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Green Bay could opt to sign a free agent — Jarvis Landry and Julio Jones are among the available wide receivers — or they could look to make a trade.

If they opt to go the trade route, there's a former first-round draft pick that would make perfect sense for the Packers.

Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker is the odd man out in South Beach after Miami acquired Tyreek Hill in a trade with the Chiefs earlier this week.

Parker, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, just turned 29 earlier this winter.

The former Louisville standout had a career year in 2019, catching 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns.

Aside from 2019, though, Parker has put up mostly mediocre numbers.

That's because Parker hasn't really been in a great situation with the Dolphins, a franchise that's on its fourth head coach since 2015.

Parker has a skill set that's enticing. He's great at making contested catches and he has good enough speed to be a vertical threat. Playing with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could give Parker's career a second life.

The Dolphins will likely look to move Parker soon, thanks to the addition of Hill. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Green Bay is where Parker lands.

Parker has two years remaining on his contract. His cap hit in 2022 is $8.7 million and in 2023 it's $9 million. This would be a great move for the Packers to get immediate help while also maintaining financial flexibility for the future.
