The 2023 NFL Trade Deadline has officially passed, and the Indianapolis Colts elected not to make a move.
The Colts sit at 3-5 after the first eight weeks, and they had a few players that teams were calling regarding trading for, but sources tell me that teams were hoping the Colts would sell low because of their record, and that wasn't the reality.
While teams will call about tons of players on deadline day to check in, I was told that two players on the Colts were especially popular around the league ahead of yesterday's deadline.
The first being the Colts 2nd string RB Zack Moss. Multiple teams were looking for RB upgrades at the deadline, and with Jonathan Taylor fully back with the Colts for the foreseeable future, the NFL's 2nd leading rusher had many teams interested in acquiring his services. In the end, I was told the Colts felt no pressure to move Moss, who is on the final year of his contract. The team believes they have one of the top RB duos in the entire NFL, and they made that clear to teams calling.
"Zack is a special guy and player. We weren't shocked when calls came in asking about him, and the team wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't at least listen this time of year. But at the end of the day, nothing was close to happening yesterday, most moves that happen on deadline day are teams selling low on players, and that wasn't on our mind."

From what I've been told, teams were hoping to grab Moss for a "late day 3 pick", and there was just no interest from the Colts in doing such a deal. They will now play out the rest of this season with Taylor and Moss at RB, and Moss will be able to hit the open market.
The next player I've been told had multiple interested teams reach out to the Colts about was CB Kenny Moore II. We saw a few teams make a move at corner yesterday, and apparently, Moore II was a player on team's mind. The Colts corner room is already so thin due to injuries this season that it would have been tough for the team to part with Moore II.
"Kenny has such a winner mentality, and that is clear to other teams when they watch him play. Multiple contenders called, but like I said about Zack, Kenny is a special person and player, and there isn't a world we were going to let a guy like him out of his locker room for what teams were interested in doing yesterday."

In regards to Moore II, I was told that an "NFC Super Bowl Contender" seemed to have the most interest in the Colts CB, but no deal was ever close to coming together yesterday. Moore II is the clear leader in the team's young CB room, and they believe he is one of the best slot CBs in the entire NFL. He is also set to become a free agent after this season, and the team will now have to see how the offseason shakes out.
