The Las Vegas Raiders' season has been quite rocky. That's probably putting it lightly, too.

As a whole, they are struggling under new head coach Josh McDaniels.

The offense has shown flashes, but the inconsistency remains. The defense lacks top end talent, and the secondary has had issues for most of the season.

There haven't been a whole lot of positives from the Raiders this season, but general manager Dave Ziegler is preaching patience.

Technically, he is correct. The Raiders have only played seven games. Unfortunately, Las Vegas has lost five of them.

Their last one was the most embarrassing loss of the season as they were shut out by the Saints. The team lacked energy.

The Raiders sit in last place in the AFC West with little reason to believe that they'll get back into the division title race.

They're continuously sloppy, and QB Derek Carr is getting plenty of blame. Ziegler believes in Carr, though.

He says that he is picking up the new system under McDaniels well.

Ziegler thinks that Carr has improved as the season has gone along and mentions that he could use some more help. That is probably true, but Carr must be more consistent if the Raiders want to win more games.

For McDaniels, Ziegler has been impressed with him so far. Record aside, he believes that he is the leader that this team needs.

That's an interesting statement considering the Raiders won ten games last season. They made the postseason.

It is clear that they have regressed so far this season, but Ziegler still clearly supports what McDaniels is doing for the Raiders.

From his comments, it is safe to believe that no massive changes are coming at QB or head coach anytime soon for the Raiders.
