Davante Adams joined the Las Vegas Raiders for one reason — a Super Bowl.

Yeah, he has ties to Derek Carr. The two played at Fresno State together. But that is beside the point. He didn't come to Las Vegas to hang out with an old friend. Adams wants to win. And win big.

"You know what's on my mind, I ain't come here just to be cute and hang out with Derek and all of that," Adams said Wednesday on an episode of The Pivot podcast. "I want to get that trophy at the end of the year."

Adams' goal is the right one to have because the Raiders haven't been to a Super Bowl since 2002. And the last time the organization won the Lombardi Trophy was in 1983 when they were in Los Angeles.

To this point in Adams' career, he hasn't won a Super Bowl. And with each passing year, the championship becomes more alluring.

"In eight years, I wasn't able to get one," he said, "but we had some really successful seasons and we did things, it just wasn't able to get it done."

In Las Vegas, he wants to change his fate. And with the preseason over, it is time to see if the duo of Carr and Adams can bring the Raiders long overdue success.
