The Las Vegas Raiders used to be a franchise that everyone respected. They did things their way, and they did not care who didn't like it. The "Raider way" was before the "Patriots way" was in New England. Players wanted to play for the Raiders back then.

Now, it's almost flipped. Well, it was before the end of this last season. Josh McDaniels, the former head coach, ruined everything that the Raiders stood for as he tried to make the silver and black his version of the Patriots. It didn't work. With Antonio Pierce, the Raiders are returning to those days and restoring the franchise to what it should be.

However, with their recent years of losing, or more like the last 20 years, it may take a lot of work to get guys to join the Raiders regarding free agency, which is why the draft is so important. Sure, the Raiders have the facilities and the weather in Las Vegas, but they also could have been more successful and have a lot of turnover regarding coaching staff. Players sometimes get turned away by that.

With Pierce at the helm now, all of that could change. Sure, everyone believes in him. However, it could also change based on what one insider is saying regarding what an NFL agent told him.

I spoke with an agent tonight, who was telling me he had seen my report about free agents wanting to play for [Antonio Pierce]. He called me, and he said, 'I want to just tell you something… I saw your report about free agents wanting to play for AP.' He said, 'Do you want to know the number one thing I'm hearing from my clients… He said, 'Dan Campbell, Antonio Pierce, Demeco Ryans.' [That] is who these people want to play for.' – Hondo Carpenter, Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast

Pierce is a player's coach, and we saw that with the Raiders. He completely turned around the locker room and got guys to buy in. We know players love him because you have guys like Maxx Crosby saying he could ask for a trade if Antonio Pierce isn't rehired.

Having a guy like Pierce and seeing what he did last season could only intrigue free agents more, helping the Raiders land even better players.
