Now that the preseason is over, the Las Vegas Raiders have a better idea of who they want to be on their team for the 2023 NFL season.

But they have 90 guys on the roster right now, and that August 29 day to cut down to 53 is coming up quickly.

Here is how I predict the roster to shape up:

Note: Players with one asterisk (*) represent 2023 draft picks and players with double asterisks (**) represent 2023 undrafted free agents.

Quarterback (3)

IN: Jimmy Garoppolo, Aidan O'Connell*, Brian Hoyer

OUT:
Chase Garbers

The Raiders don't need any more games to decide who will be the quarterbacks on the roster. Now they have to decide who is QB2. After an elite preseason showing from O'Connell, there could be a switch-up.

Running Back (5)

IN: Josh Jacobs, Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah, Brandon Bolden

OUT:
Brittain Brown, Damien Williams, Sincere McCormick, Darwin Thompson

Josh Jacobs is back, and after signing a one-year deal for $12 million, fans have to be excited. But that immediately pushes one more running back out of the picture. White will be the backup, Abdullah will handle third and long situations, and Brandon Volden will be the veteran who knows the offense.

Fullback (1)

IN: Jakob Johnson

OUT:
N/A

The Raiders are one of the few teams left in the NFL that uses a fullback, and they love Johnson. He's the only one on the roster.

Wide Receiver (6)

IN: Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, Hunter Renfrow, Tre Tucker*, Deandre Carter, Kristian Wilkerson

OUT: Keelan Cole Sr., Cam Sims, Phillip Dorsett, Chris Lacy, Isaiah Zuber

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the entire league when you account for the current 90-man roster. So, this position group is one of the more difficult when it comes down to decisions. The four guys that are a lock are Adams, Meyers, Renfrow, and Tucker. The first three are being paid a lot of money, and Tucker is a third-round pick from this last draft. Now it comes down to Deandre Carter, who should make it because of his ability to be a returner.

Even in his last preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys, Kristian Wilkerson showed he deserves a spot on someone's 53-man roster. He, to me, is better than Dorsett and takes the last spot.

Tight End (3)

IN: Michael Mayer*, Austin Hooper, Jesper Horsted

OUT:
Jacob Hollister, John Samuel Shenker**, Cole Fotheringham

Mayer is easily the TE2 after what we have seen in the preseason. The potential is there, but he still has a lot of development to do. Hooper is the veteran on the squad, and Horsted has had a great training camp.

Offensive line (9)

IN: Kolton Miller, Dylan Parham, Andre James, Alex Bars, Jermaine Eluemunor, Thayer Munford Jr., Greg Van Roten, Justin Herron, McClendon Curtis**

OUT: Brandon Parker, Hroniss Grasu, Dalton Wagner**, Netane Muti, Jordan Meredith, Vitaliy Gurman

The Raiders feel very confident in the depth they have on the offensive line. As of right now, I have Jermaine Eluemunor starting at left tackle; however, I would not be surprised if Thayer Munford took the job. The Raiders' offensive line looks to be a tad better than it was last season.

Right now, the argument in the front office has to be if they want to find a way to keep Dalton Wagner. If not, he likely won't clear waivers and he will find a new team.

Defensive Line (9)

IN: Maxx Crosby, Bilal Nichols, Jerry Tillery, Chandler Jones, Tyree Wilson*, Matthew Butler, Byron Young*, Malcolm Koonce, Neil Farrell Jr.

OUT: John Jenkins, Nesta Jade Silvera*, Jordan Willis, Adam Butler, Adam Plant**, George Tarlas**, David Agoha**

Nothing changed with this unit compared to the last 53-man. The Raiders showed that they have a few guys on the defensive line that could make some noise but for other teams. Hopefully, Jade-Silvera clears waivers, and the Raiders can bring him back on the practice squad and develop him.

Linebacker (5)

IN: Divine Deablo, Robert Spillane, Luke Masterson, Curtis Bolton, Amari Burney

OUT: Darien Butler, Kana’i Mauga, Drake Thomas**

One of the more confusing units to start this 2023 season just got a whole lot less confusing. Bolton showed in the preseason that he can do some damage. Not to mention Darien Butler got hurt. Look for Bolton to move his way up the depth chart though, as I think he can replace Masterson.

Cornerback (6)

IN: Marcus Peters, Jakorian Bennett*, Nate Hobbs, David Long Jr., Duke Shelley, Amik Robertson

OUT: Tyler Hall, Brandon Facyson, Sam Webb, Ike Brown, Bryce Cosby, Azizi Hearn**, Jordan Perryman**

While nothing changed with this unit, some things became a lot less clear to me. Now, I'm stuck on whether Tyler Hall will make this team or not. As for everyone else, it's pretty evident who will make it based on who we know the Raiders love as their main guys.

Safety (5)

IN: Marcus Epps, Tre’von Moehrig, Chris Smith II*, Roderic Teamer

OUT: Isaiah Pola-Mao, Jaquan Johnson, Jaydon Grant**

Nothing really changed with this unit, either. Now the thought is there that maybe Teamer's time could be up soon. I still don't see him being cut, though. The one guy who barely didn't make the cut is Pola-Mao, the nephew of legendary safety Troy Polamalu. He had a great preseason, but ultimately, the guys ahead of him are a tad bit better and know the defense better. If he doesn't get picked up by another team, look for the Raiders to keep him and develop his game.

Special Teams (3)

IN: Daniel Carlson (K), A.J. Cole (P), Jacob Bobenmoyer (LS)

OUT: N/A

This one is pretty obvious, as the Raiders have one of the best kickers in the league and one of the best punters in the league. Those two aren't going anywhere.

The Raiders depth chart now and what I predicted last week aren't much different. However, that doesn't mean the Raiders won't shake things up. They know who they like, who they don't like, and what they want to do with their team. Now, as the cuts start flying in, we will see how the Raiders roster will look for the 2023 season.

Raiders are being forced to prove themselves in Week 1

The Las Vegas Raiders will always be disrespected when it comes to how the national media views them. Thankfully, most fans don't care. With all the new additions this team has made this offseason, you would think the respect would be higher than usual. They added the best receiver in the game over the last […]
