The Las Vegas Raiders just announced a huge decision days before game day against the Chicago Bears.

Earlier this week, Jimmy Garoppolo was ruled out of Sunday's game as he was dealing with back issues from the last game. At halftime against the New England Patriots, he was taken to a hospital and examined for internal injuries. The Raiders dodged a bullet.

Now, though, they are tasked with picking who will start in place of Garoppolo. On Friday, they announced it would be 15-year veteran Brian Hoyer.

They likely made this decision because of how good he looked in the second half against the Patriots when he came in for Garoppolo. Hoyer had a nice pass to Tre Tucker for 48 yards, which is the longest Raiders play so far this season.

Hopefully, Hoyer can replicate some of that.
