Davante Adams is coming off of a good year in 2022, where he put up some of the biggest numbers at his position. The Las Vegas Raiders, with all of the drama they had going on, were fortunate enough to have him do what he did.

Adams finished with over 1,500 yards, tallying the second most in a season in his career, and 14 touchdowns, which is also the second most in his career. Mind you, he did all that his first year in a new offense, on a new team, with a new quarterback and new coaches.

It just didn't matter. Adams did what he always does – ball out.

While he is expected to have another stellar season in 2023, ESPN doesn't think he will do quite what he did last season.

ESPN doesn't think Raiders' star Davante Adams will be as good in 2023

The Raiders have some things going for them in 2023; some say more than they did last year. However, ESPN feels that things will be worse, at least for Adams. But they won't be too much worse.

ESPN is projecting Adams to finish 2023 with 1,479 receiving yards on 96 receptions. Sure, it's a down year statistically, but it's still worthy of an All-Pro vote and definitely a Pro Bowl.

Here is what ESPN had to say:

Adams is entering a transition year because he has had only two quarterbacks since graduating high school in 2011 (Derek Carr at Fresno State, Aaron Rodgers with the Packers, and Carr again last season with Las Vegas). Hello, Jimmy Garoppolo, who is not especially known for deep passes, which could make it hard for Adams to replicate last season's career-high average of 15.2 yards per catch. – ESPN

Davante Adams should have a better season with everything the team has going for them. Then you add in the fact that the Raiders have a much deeper receiver room and many more new pieces that affect Adams, and it makes a bit more sense. The numbers aren't what upsets me; it's who is ranked above Adams on this list.

Stefon Diggs and A.J. Brown ar not better than Adams. They never have been, and they certainly have yet to be as consistent as Adams. But then again, why would anyone on the Las Vegas Raiders get some good attention?
