Josh Jacobs hasn't reported to training camp because he hasn't signed his franchise tag or any other deal with the team, for that matter. He is actually back home working out instead of with the Las Vegas Raiders in Henderson, Nevada, every day.

However, Jacobs is still staying involved despite everything bad you are hearing about him.

Jacobs has communicated with Raiders' RB Zamir White

If the season were to start today, Zamir White, the second-year backup running back, would be the starter against the Denver Broncos. We have seen White play, and he isn't half bad; however, he isn't Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs led the NFL in rushing last season, and honestly, you could make the case he is the best running back in the league. So, it's fair to say the Raiders need him.

Even though he has not been at training camp or any of the preseason games, he has stayed involved. He's been texting White, which means more than you think. Jacobs is checking in on his rookie from last season, showing he still cares about his teammates

"He texted me yesterday just checking on me, but that's about it," White said to reporters. "That's huge, man, because last year Josh [Jacobs] was helping me out with plays and all that type of stuff. So, we were really close last year just hanging out here, at home, so it's huge."

There is a huge chance that White could start Week 1. Now, I don't think he will, as I think Jacobs will be back by then; however, it's good to know that Jacobs is checking in. he is staying involved somewhat.

The Raiders can have an elite offense in 2023 if Jacobs plays the full season. Now they just need to get him to camp.
