The Las Vegas Raiders didn't get to select a player until the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. That was due to the Davante Adams trade.
Accordingly, the Raiders didn't get a ton of impact with their rookie class compared to some other teams. That's a bit of a tough break, but they're certainly happy to have Adams on their offense that is getting a bit of a make-over this off-season.
Regardless, it shouldn't be surprising that their rookie class from 2022 doesn't get raving reviews from many analysts.
Eric Edholm of NFL.com ranked their class among the NFL and gave them a grade.
The Raiders received a ranking of 30th-best and a D+ grade.
That top pick was Dylan Parham, who was durable, starting all 17 games. At times, he appeared a bit underdeveloped as a pass protector, but he was more consistent as a run blocker in that Josh Jacobs-dependent system. Parham appears to have average to above-average potential as a starting guard or center.
The two fourth-rounders, Zamir White and Neil Farrell, played sparingly as rookies. White's limited usage wasn't shocking, considering how much the offense leaned on Jacobs, but it will be important for him to carve out more of a role.
Farrell plays a need position for the Raiders, and he was slowed by a shoulder injury, but it's unclear how much upside he has.
Thayer Munford Jr. was the only other draft pick who played a notable amount. He was in the right tackle mix early before shifting to more of a reserve role. There's still a debate where he's best — inside or out.
Plenty of fair points from Edholm here.
Sadly, there just isn't much ability to get a plethora of talent when you don't have a pick before the 90th selection.
That being said, Dylan Parham is an important piece for them going forward. He showed really solid flashes for LV this season, and the staff loves his competitive nature and ability in the run game. His pass blocking needs improvement, but Josh McDaniels and co. can develop him further.
Zamir White can be their RB2 for years to come. His physical nature matches their identity on offense.
Neil Farrell didn't receive a start at one of the weeks positions on the Raiders roster. It's tough to see him having too much of an impact down the road, but there's still time.
Thayer Munford Jr. is another interesting piece as the seventh-round selection played more than anyone expected in year one. His four starts were a rollercoaster, but he can be a fine depth offensive lineman for the Raiders going forward.
Their 2022 draft class won't catch many eyeballs, but that shouldn't shock anyone.
